is that when your grandma gave you a place to stay while you craiglist some labor jobs
i have a job right now assholes
a place to stay is a place to stay is a place to stay is a
the amount of money i'm saving up right now not having to pay for rent, the shit is off the hook niqqa
hold the fuck on plugdrugs told us he quit his job after 2 days like just last week, but now he's suddenly got it again?
yeah ok :heh:
Quit? That halfhomo druggy got fired after 2 days lol
i'm basically there as a courtesy to people who've been there longer so they can have a day off, that's what it seems like to me anyways
dude you totally said "yeah i already quit that job" or something really similar when i was tryng to give you a peptalk about making it through the probationary period (90 days) like a week or 2 ago.
also all those times i told you to kill yourself, well i did that because i was afraid you really would but i hoped that deep down you hatted me enough not to give my faggot ass the satisfaction.
youre welcome, dickhead.
you're basically unemployed
No, that's every windows ever. this one is no more or less "dumbed down", if anything it's more difficult to figure out because nothing is where it used to be
It wasn't apparent to you so no I guess not
yes I just do this for a living and know Windows inside and out
pd what is your current job you dont have to answer if you dont want imcjust curious
It's on the metro menu which replaced the start menu, it's no harder or less intuitive than it was before and in fact may be more intuitive because you don't even need to click anything to make that menu come up
How many times am I going to have to prove you wrong before you admit you've never even seen windows 8 and you're pulling all of this straight out of your ass so you have something to soapbox about?
hmm i dicked around with it for a while, i was basing that off of videos i saw on it because i vowed to myself to never use Windows 8 again; although i might get it and just download the classic shell
The same applies though: casual users are only going to do what is immediately conveyable to them. If you put shit in random counter-intuitive places, most casual users are going to just do their best to live without using it, and only use shit like IE to check facebook, etc.. and never learn more about their computer
You can't buy respect, and Microsoft lost mine when they put ads in their OS interface trying to sell me shit
so in other words they'll be just like you, they won't learn anything that they can't do via clicking on the pretty pictures that are right in front of their face
how is this any different than what I've been saying throughout this whole conversation? I never said they weren't stupid and/or computer illiterate, I have said over and over again you are exactly as stupid and computer illiterate as they are and everything you're saying is reinforcing that
Like I said earlier, I can use DOS when I have to or want to
And I have said this again and again: If you can agree that Windows 8 is a dumber interface than Windows 7, and can agree that using the GUI is going to distance people from knowing more about their computer, then Windows 8 is going to increase that gap and breed more GUI-dependent usersQuote:

I'd believe that if you had any fucking clue how to use it.
Doesn't sound much different than
"I can use Windows 8 in desktop mode when I have to or want to"
No it's not, we're still going to have the same ratio of dumbasses who don't know what the hell they're doing and you're still going to be one of themQuote:

if getting to the control panel or command prompt is too complicated and counter-intuitive, a casual user is just going to live without it
Like you've been doing for years because you can't handle any task which isn't spoon fed to you
Marks says "I know the magic passwords, na na na-boo boo, you-u do-on't"
it'd be funny if Marks had a nightmare where he was in DOS but all the symbols of everything were in chinese and so was the keyboard, and someone was there going "whatsa matta?? too dependent on a GUI?"
Like I said earlier, give me a DOS manual and a dictionary and I can do anything in DOS that you can, granted it will take me longer to get in the groove, simply because you have more experience with it, but I could still catch up.
So exactly what you were saying about Windows 8 users until I called you on it
the CLI is language independent slickQuote:

You have neither the inclination nor the ability to learn DOS, if you were the power user you like to pretend that you are you'd already know it. I'll bet you don't even know how to add a snap-in to the MMC.Quote:

Not at all; Microsoft is stacking the cards against those users.
Keep telling yourself that.Quote:

First of all, there's more than one way to skin a cat. Second of all, if someone changed all the characters to random Chinese symbols, rearranged all the keys on the keyboard which would also be in chinese, then you'd be completely lost and you know it.
When I want to or have to, I can learn it to the extent I need to to get it to do what I need it to do. If I can use it to my benefit, then that's all that countsQuote:

There really isn't, there's a ton of shit that can only be done via DOS or powershell and if you don't know either of those things you've obviously never done them
you're a typical home user who knows how to do incredibly basic things. there's nothing wrong with that, but it does mean you should keep your fucking mouth shut when it comes to technical stuff and you have no place criticizing people who only know slightly less than you do.
I'm saying the semantics of the CLI itself could be different if they were designed differently.
Everything in DOS is incredibly basic; why bother learning it unless I'm using it for something. As an example, I had to set up a static IP to host games, I figured out how to do that with written instructions.Quote:

Also, I am not criticizing those people beneath me, rather I am defending them; I want it to be as easy as possible for those people to be able to learn about computers so they do become smarter about computers - that can't happen if there's some leech stacking the cards against them.
