    I'd say both programming and general IT are both on an upward trend, especially web programming

    well what do you know one of my subjects is web programming just passed a php/html/mysql/apache test today nothing too impressive but paying attention to detail in code to get things working can be a pain

    well I can tell you that they are not, 20 years ago there was a steep climb and rise in the industry... problem is many thought that rise would continue indefinately and that it would be one of the main jobs in the future

    it did not and plataued and it plataued about a decade ago dipshit... companies usually employ one maybe two guys for IT, basically just to fix things if they go down... depends on the size of the company

    but fact is you are like 20-15 years too late to claim that it is the fastest growing industry... it really has had very little growth in the past decade

    go look up the graphs yourself and you will see it quite plainly

    I can actually say, "you work in IT" and that hold conotations that you work in a shitty, boring, dead end job maks.
