oh yeah the fanfare trick! I'm pretty sure he used adblockplus, you put the person on ignore and the hide the element that makes it say "this message is hidden blah blah" so you see no evidence that they ever even posted unless someone quotes them

No, it hides the element which hides a post of someone on your ignore list. So the forum tries to put up a collapsed post with a message that says "This message is hidden ect ect" and your browser is like fuck you I'm not rendering that so it just skips it altogether

do you know how to do this specifically, theres no easy shortcut hide element for chrome so i have to create the filter myself

pretty sure it's in either adblock or noscript, can't be bothered to figure out which right now
