Yes, in 12 Step programs you're supposed to have a sponsor, who guides you through working the 12 steps, and is your confidant you can tell shit to that may be too private to discuss openly in the meetings. It's not like a corporate sponsor, it's just someone you trust to help you through things that are bothersome or hard to understand and help you decide not to use whenever you are craving dope or alcohol.
