    do you just mean the slaughtering of the people directly responsible for ft sumter? or of all the south for daring to secede? birmingham, atlanta and many other of the few southern metros didnt deserve to be razed. i have mixed feelings on the right to secede - there's states i'd be happier without being in the union, like GA, CA, AK, and maybe TX, but that's a bigoted and ignorant perspective to seriously argue.
    i just thought you were all about states rights and big state governemnt instead of big federal government

    The civil ware wasn't about state's rights, it was about punishing traitors. The minute they attacked fort sumpter they gave up their rights and basically said 'please united states army, burn our homes to the ground'
