    maybe it's funny because people who are raised in the south see generalizations and stereotypes that we're accustomed to displayed in a humorous/sardonic way

    I guess context may have something to do with it, but I'm pretty sure if someone made a really bland cartoon about new englanders I still wouldn't laugh
