difference is archer didnt have a prime directive and already made contact with these people then decided to let nature take its course

also there was a subrace of people who were resistant to the disease that were basically in a caste system and they were like not as smart as the other ones but Phlox was like "captain we gotta let nature take tis course so the other race can step out as the dominant species" or whatever it was kinda shitty
