I know you were posting "ironically" but it is quite common for opiate addicts to intentionally injure themselves just so they can get free morphine from the ER. I wouldn't be surprised if Mike was that desperate. He did make a thread about pawning his guitar only a day or two beforehand.

like i would not be surprised at all if he stole a bunch of drugs while he was there, even though his motivation for getting there in the first place was clearly to get attention
