My newer computer recently took a turn for the worse (thanks to my cat), and I put the graphics card from it into this computer here. I thought they had the same specs, minus the cards. Well, turns out this one's processor is slower. I was wondering if I put the busted computer's processor into this one if it will work? I'd imagine so, but if there's any conflicts anyone can think of, please let me know. I know a fair amount of computers, but my luck is horrible. I know most people don't think luck exists, but when you've got a 256MB graphics card and have trouble running a Half Life 1 (yes, 1) mod, that's some stuff right there.

I'll list the specs of this PC, just in case it's needed:

    - The AMD 2500+ (want to switch to the 3200+)
    - 1 Gig of RAM (Sorry, I don't know the kind. Actually, I have another gig that might have better latency, but sadly I'm pretty dumb when it comes to RAM, and it probably wouldn't matter much anyway.)
    - Radeon X800 Pro 256MB
    - 2x hard drives (old school big ribbon, newer pc had some lovely S/ATA :/...)
    - Albatron KX18D PRO (I don't trust this motherboard too much, the website for the company is horrible)
    - 450W PSU (Nothing fancy, well, red LED fan, but still was really cheap)

I wish I had cash. I really want to get a whole new 64 bit system with the dual 512MB cards from ATi, and AMD's whatever processor, with the multiple cores. But, for now, I'm stuck with this trash heap. So anything (seriously, just type anything, I'm going crazy here) will be more than good.
literally a dumb fucking post of you outlining a desire to put a processor in a motherboard where it's not supported
