it stands for distributed denial of service, meaning that a bunch of people all run it at the same time and flood the server with requests. one btard running loic wouldn't do anything, it has to be a shitload.

also since you're not running any web servers or anything that I know of, all anyone could do is ping you, a ping is tiny and it would take many thousands of machines pinging for you to notice any sort of effect. I'll guarantee nobody on this forum has a botnet, the people who are sophisticated enough to put one together are too ethical or busy to ever do it.
