That's just my stupidly simple explanation of it based on what I remember from music class as a 7 year old in elementary school combined with what I remember from playing the saxaphone for 2 years in band then applied to learning how to play the guitar and the stuff my friend taught me and occasionally reading a guitar book or googling how to play something.
