    fat32 is the most compatible between devices and operating systems, it's the lowest common demonter and will be able to be read by more devices than ntfs, also i think ms owns ntfs and you have to pay them for the lib but i am not sure on that

    Android uses ext4 for everything else, and it's readable by linux or even windows if you install a driver for it, and vfat exists and is readable by anything past XP, so considering all that I assume there must be a reason why they're using fat32 and if there isn't I'm going to format that sucker as ext4 and be done with it
