The point of torture is not to punish someone, it's a forum of entertainment and curiosity for the torturers.

Just seems weird... and all these different techniques that people have come up with.... it seems a really bizarre practice to me.

Not for me as I'm not a torturer but a lot of torture happens under the guise of punishment and I've been studying some of these methods and it just seems really weird to me a lot of it, especially the ones where the end result is death anyway and the torture is devised to go on for days, weeks, months even years... it really does not seem to be for the purpose of actual punishment but for the the entertainment of the torturers and for their own curiosity... it seems to me to call some of these 'forms of punishment' is actually just falsely externalising the actual purpose of it. The purpose is not to actually punish someone for their benefit and betterment, the torture is solely for the benefit of the torturers who must enjoy inflicting cruelty and some of these methods are so bizarre that they must be performed out of curiosity to see what it would do to someone. Do you understand what I am saying?
