My grandfather was first hand on one of those trains going to a concentration camp when he was a child trying to escape Holland, they were saved by the tracks being bombed and they all fled the train, the train was not full of food, it was full of people being transported to work camps as prisoners, they were all starving, he had a distended belly for the rest of his life because he literally nearly starved to death as a kid in the war.
