    just because he's schizophrenic doesn't mean he doesn't understand what's going on. i've healt with a great deal of schizophrenics while i worked at the native cultural centre and when they're on medication they find it hard to concentrate, but they can understand what's going on. even if they're not on meds, they're not alwasys so psychotic that they interpret what's going on incorrectly
