    Language has a lot to do with ethnicity, actually. Arab people are called Arabs because their countries primarily speak Arabic. Countries in the middle east such as Turkey and Iran do not speak arabic, therefore they are not arabs.

    Most Arabs use the Arabic Language as a way of deciding who is an Arab more than they use skin color (which may vary from Spanish/Italian coloration to light African coloration). In this way, a person who speaks an Arabic dialect as his or her native tongue is considered an Arab.
