arab as a racial identifier is vague at best regardless. the people who were living in Roman Egypt in 200 A.D. before the Arab invasions were not arabs, but became arabs not genetically but culturally, religiously, and linguistically over a long period of time. racially there is no difference between the Copts, Egyptian christians, and the muslim majority. similarly there is no difference between Maronites in Lebanon and their muslim co-nationalists, etc.
