Couldn't a simple procedure involving simply household items be performed to remove the base? Or i bet morphine sulfate could at least be plugged (salts can't affect the BA of anal administration)

yes the sulphate has best BA when plugged (obviously barring IV)
and you can get morphine hcl from morphine so4 by adding muriatic acid, then carefully adding lye until pH-neutral
