i guess not everyone can do that. if you are constantly plagued by racing/cycling thoughts then you will have trouble zoning out to music. you have to be able to let yourself fall into a meditative state. you could force it with seroquel, it's a tranquilizer that basically disables higher thinking for awhile. nasty stuff imo but for certain people it's a godsend

and i was once just as bad about drugs as PD, maybe worse. so no big deal.
