to give you some background from my life, most of the illegal immigrants ive known or worked with were paid similar wages. min wage in texas was probably $5.15/hr when these were going on.

ag workers usually made around $10/hr
construction/framing/roofing guys usually made $14-16/hr
cooks typically made minimum wage, "chef's" made $10/hr.

thats how legals are paid too. agriculture has some fucked up laws and in many cases there is no federal minimum wage of overtime for agricultural workers. someone might be working 12 hours a day and making 10k per year, but theyre only working that job for 3-4 months

if you have a town of 5000 people and the local government is just making enough off taxes, what happens when illegals come? say 1000 mexicans show up because of a new factory. 500 pay taxes, 500 dont. now you have a town that can support 5500 people, but is populated by 6000 people. not enough cops for the amount of crime, not enough hospital space, the roads turn to shit. the roads will get fucked up 10% quicker. that means if this little rural town paved their roads every 6 years, now you get to drive on a shitty ass road for 6 months longer because of MEXICANS
